Article 7: Qualifications & Duties

Section 7.1: Qualifications and Duties of the NSTAMP President

7.1.1 The President shall oversee other Executives and Officers and assist their roles as necessary.

7.1.2 The President shall oversee all NSTAMP meetings.

7.1.3 The President shall meet with administration, staff, and faculty at York University as necessary to implement NSTAMP programs.

7.1.4 The President shall supervise and deal with issues that arise between mentors and mentees.

 7.1.5 The President shall call NSTAMP meetings as needed, and also represents the mentorship program in NSAY by attending and contributing to NSAY meetings.

7.1.6 The President, as a mentor, will monitor and respond to emails from NSTAMP.yorku@gmail.com within a 48 hour period.

7.1.7 The President, as a mentor, shall foster mentorship relationship by responding to mentee queries within 48 hours and facilitate workshops for mentees.

7.1.8 The President shall consider fundraising events if funding from the university is not enough to cover the costs of the program and keeping a record of spent money.

7.1.9 The President, as a tutor, will assist in facilitating tutoring sessions and workshops for students.

7.2.0 The President must have an overall GPA of B+. Student with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application


 

 

Section 7.2: Qualifications and Duties of the NSTAMP Vice President.

7.2.1 The Vice President shall support the President by keeping track of mentor involvement with NSAY.

7.2.2 The Vice President shall provide assistance with program administrative issues, running program meetings and provide support with development and implementation of the workshops.

7.2.3 The Vice President shall attend NSAY meetings when the President is unable to attend.

7.2.4 The Vice President shall be responsible for assisting the President in planning, implementing and hosting new programs, services, and events to improve overall student success and relations in the collaborative, Second entry and IEN nursing programs at York University.

7.2.5 The Vice President, as a mentor, is expected to foster mentorship relationship by responding to mentee queries within 48 hours and facilitate workshops for mentees.

7.2.6 The Vice President, as a tutor, will be facilitating tutoring sessions and workshops for students.

7.2.7 The Vice President, as a mentor and tutor, will monitor and respond to emails from NSTAMP.yorku@gmail.com within a 48-hour period.

7.2.8 The Vice President must have an overall GPA of B+. Student with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application

Section 7.3: Qualifications and Duties of the NSTAMP NSC and Lab Director.

7.3.1 The NSC and Lab Director shall support the President by keeping track of mentor involvement NSAY.

7.3.2 The NSC and Lab Director shall provide assistance with program administrative issues, provide support with development and implementation of the workshops.

7.3.3 The NSC and Lab Director shall attend NSAY meetings when the President is unable to attend.

7.3.4 The NSC and Lab Director shall be responsible for planning and hosting clinical labs skills, developing simulations, providing basic nursing skills practice, giving out visual aids and providing special guest speaker presentation, all with the help of the nursing lab.

7.3.5 The NSC and Lab Director, as a mentor, is expected to foster mentorship relationship by responding to mentee queries within 48 hours and facilitate workshops for mentees.

7.3.6 The NSC and Lab Director, as a tutor, will be facilitating tutoring sessions and workshops for students.
7.3.7 The NSC and Lab Director, as a mentor, will monitor and respond to emails from NSTAMP.yorku@gmail.com within a 48-hour period.

7.3.8 The NSC and Lab Director must have an overall GPA of B+. Student with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application

Section 7.4: Qualifications and Duties of the NSTAMP Social Media Officer

7.4.1 The Social Media Officer will be responsible for promoting NSTAMP activities or goals effectively on its social media pages.

7.4.2 The Social Media Officer will take a lead on informing incoming students about the program, and gathering and posting related content/resources on NSTAMP social media accounts.

7.4.3 The Social Media Officer will also be responsible for finding effective interfaces to communicate with incoming students, and work in collaboration with the School of Nursing staff to contact incoming students.

7.4.4 The Social Media Officer, as a mentor, is expected to foster mentorship relationship by responding to mentee queries within 48 hours and facilitate workshops for mentees.

7.4.5 The Social Media Officer, as a mentor, will monitor and respond to emails from NSTAMP.yorku@gmail.com within a 48-hour period.

7.4.6 The Social Media Officer must have an overall GPA of B+. Student with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application

Section 7.5: Qualifications and Duties of the Peer Mentor Coordinator

7.5.1 The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator shall work closely with Peer Mentors and recording hours of NSTAMP Peer Mentors.

7.5.2 The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator shall work closely with the President, Vice President, Social media officer, and class representative to run mentoring program meetings and provide support with development and implementation of the workshops.

7.5.3 The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator shall record mentoring hours of NSTAMP Peer Mentors and work with Microsoft Office products to create and edit documents and presentations for peer mentors when needed.

7.5.4 The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator shall be responsible for attending weekly club Peer mentoring meetings with Stong and calumet college on behalf of NSAY/NSTAMP Executives

7.5.5The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator shall be responsible for connecting with the NSAY Faculty Liaison.

7.5.6 The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator shall be responsible for connecting with NSTAMP Executive members about updates with the Peer Mentoring program.

7.5.7 The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator, as a mentor, is expected to foster mentorship relationship by responding to mentee queries within 48 hours and facilitate workshops for mentees.

7.5.8 The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator, as a mentor, will monitor and respond to emails from NSTAMP.yorku@gmail.com within a 48-hour period.

7.5.9 The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator will be responsible for meeting with Peer Mentors on a bi-weekly basis

 7.6.0 The NSTAMP Peer Mentor Coordinator must have an overall GPA of B+. Student with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application

Section 7.6: Qualifications and Duties of the Peer Tutor Coordinator

7.6.1 The NSTAMP Peer Tutor Coordinator shall work closely with Peer Tutors and recording hours of NSTAMP Peer Tutors.

7.6.9 The NSTAMP Peer Tutor Coordinator will be responsible for meeting with Peer Tutors on a bi-weekly basis.

7.7.0 The NSTAMP Peer Tutor Coordinator must have an overall GPA of B+. Student with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application.

 

Section 7.7: Qualification and Duties of the Finance Director

7.7.1 The Finance Director will monitor the use of the NSTAMP bank account.

7.7.2 The Finance Director will budget for any events, office equipment and seek sources of funding through external and internal sponsors

7.7.3 The Finance Director will have assistance from the other NSTAMP members and nursing students during any fundraising or sponsorship events.  

7.7.4 The Finance Director nominee must demonstrate budgeting experience or outline similar experience that would be beneficial to this position.

7.7.5 The Finance Director is financially responsible for all of NSTAMP funds.   

7.7.6 The Finance Director is required to provide a budget and financial summary for each term and when requested.

7.7.7 Along with the Vice President, the Finance Director has sole signing authority for financial responsibilities and must be able to sign all required cheques as needed.

7.7.8 It is recommended that the person in this position not be in IP during the duration of their term of office.

7.7.9 The Finance Director must have an overall GPA of B+. Student with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application.

Section 7.8a: Qualifications and Duties of the Mentorship Committee

7.8.1a The Mentorship Committee Members shall be responsible for one on one mentoring and flash mentoring.

7.8.2a The Mentorship Committee Members will be available for at least one hour for online/appointment-based mentoring sessions on a biweekly basis.

7.8.3a Mentorship Committee Members shall work together with the NSTAMP President and address any problems that occur.

7.8.4a The Mentorship Committee Members will be responsible for filling out biweekly reflections.

7.8.5a The Mentorship Committee Members shall contact their mentees at least once every week.

7.8.6a The Mentorship Committee Members will be responsible for computing their service hours into YU Connect.

7.8.7a The Mentorship Committee Members will be responsible for attending bi-weekly meetings with their Peer Mentor Coordinators.

7.8.8a All Mentorship Committee Members must have an overall GPA of B+. Members with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application.
 

Section 7.8b: Qualifications and Duties of the Nursing Student Ambassador Committee

7.8.1b This committee is formed by 3rd-year collaborative students starting their first year at York University and upper-year students. The committee will be lead by the Peer Mentor Coordinator. 

7.8.2b The goal of this committee is to provide a leadership platform for 3rd-year collaborative students and to enhance communication between nursing students at York University and Seneca-Georgian Colleges.

7.8.3b The committee is responsible for arranging workshops, college visits, and webinars to prepare college students for the first-year university experience.

7.8.4b The Peer Mentor Coordinator and Vice President are responsible for maintaining communication with the collaborative UPD at York University and Seneca-Georgian Colleges to plan and adapt programs as needed.

7.8.5b Nursing Student Ambassadors must have an overall GPA of B+. Members with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application.

 

Section 7.8c: Qualifications and Duties of the Tutoring Committee

7.8.1c The Tutoring Committee shall be responsible for online tutoring and tutoring by appointment.

7.8.2c The Tutoring Committee will be responsible for meeting with their Peer Tutor Coordinator on a bi-weekly basis.

7.8.3c The Tutoring Committee will be responsible for completing tracking forms of the appointment based tutoring.

7.8.4c The Tutoring Committee members shall demonstrate prior experience in any sort of tutoring and must have a course average of A in the particular tutoring subject.

7.8.5c All members of the Tutoring Committee must have an overall GPA of B+ and a grade a minimum grade of A in the course they are tutoring.

Section 7.8d: Qualifications and Duties of the NSC Committee

7.8.1d The NSC Committee members shall assist the NSTAMP NSC and Lab Director in facilitating workshops for students.

7.8.2d The NSC Committee members shall assist the NSTAMP NSC and Lab Director in creating resources such as pamphlets, and other promotional objects.

7.8.3d The NSC Committee members shall be responsible for facilitating an NSTAMP NSC workshop when the NSC and Lab Director is absent.

7.8.4d NSC Committee members must have an overall GPA of B+. Members with a cumulative GPA below a B+ must provide rationale along with your application.
